At Batavia Academy of Dance, our program is designed to
accommodate all levels and ages, from students who wish to achieve a professional career in dance to those who simply want
to enjoy dance on a recreational level.
Our aim is to provide the highest quality of dance training to Batavia
and the surrounding Fox Valley communities. We
offer classes in Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Ballroom, Latin dance, Yoga, and Zumba fitness!!

Pre-Dance
Ages 3-5 Our pre-dance program is specifically
designed for our youngest dancers, ages 3-5. These fun creative-movement classes focus on development of coordination, motor
skills, listening skills, and musical and spatial awareness through the use of movement and imagination. Students learn the
beginning elements, steps, and vocabulary of Ballet and Tap dance. Classes are one hour in length. Class size is limited-register
early. Basics Ages 6-8 Our basics program is specifically designed for our 6-8 year old dancers. These classes are one hour in length. Class
size is limited-register early. Ballet Basics: Our Ballet Basics class introduces students
to classical ballet. Students learn the basic fundamentals of ballet technique and terminology, while building muscular strength
and proper dance posture. Classroom etiquette and discipline are emphasized in a positive and energetic atmosphere. Jazz Basics: Our Jazz Basics class introduces students to the fundamentals of Jazz dance by focusing on turns,
progressions, isolations, and combinations across the floor and Tap dance by focusing on rhythm, technique, and coordinated
foot work. Hip Hop Basics: This exciting class teaches fundamental steps of one of the
most popular dance forms in existence! Set to the latest trends in urban music, students learn footwork, break dancing, poppin',
and freestyle dance movements, as influenced by some of today's hottest television shows and music videos.
Ballet Ballet is the foundation of all other
dance styles and is the core of our dance program. Our Classical Ballet curriculum is based upon the acclaimed Vaganova Method.
Proficiency in classical technique, alignment, aplomb, strength, flexibility, vocabulary,
ballet history and appreciation, artistry, and musicality are gained through the course curriculum. Designed to be progressive, the aim of our program is continual student advancement with the completion of
each school year. Our school year begins in late August and commences with our annual recital in June.
Pre - Pointe work in our Classical Ballet program begins at the Ballet III level. Pointe work begins at the Ballet IV level. Pas de Deux (partnering) work begins at the Ballet V level. Ballet II-VII is by placement only. Ballet II
classes are twice weekly, Ballet III-VII are three times weekly.
Jazz Jazz dance is made up of multiple dance techniques and styles as it is greatly influenced by a variety
of other dance forms, such as music videos and Broadway. Our jazz dance program incorporates traditional jazz dance,
lyrical, modern jazz, and contemporary dance. Classes are fun, energetic, and set to popular music! Students learn the multiple
facets and techniques of Jazz dance with a focus on turns, isolations, progressions, and combinations across the floor. Ballet
technique and training is essential for the safe accomplishment of intermediate and advanced jazz dance steps and is therefore
a pre-requisite for Jazz II and beyond. Lyrical/Contemporary
Breathtakingly beautiful, a fusion of ballet, jazz, modern,
and post-modern dance styles, Lyrical and Contemporary dance aims to interpret and illustrate the accompanying music in an
emotionally expressive way through movement. Ballet technique is essential for the safe accomplishment of intermediate and
advanced Lyrical steps and is therefore a pre-requisite for Lyrical/Contemporary II and beyond.
Tap Tap
is a rhythmic and compelling form of dance. From it's soft shoe roots to it's modern hoofing popularity, Tap dance is
a timeless classic. Our Tap dance program follows the progressive flow of tap and encompasses steps from the origins of tap
to modern percussive tap. Students learn proper technique through footwork, progressions, and syncopated rhythms. Hip Hop Learn the
fundamental steps of one of the most popular dance forms in existence in these exciting classes! Set to the latest trends
in urban music, students learn footwork, break dancing, poppin', and freestyle dance movements, as influenced by some of today's
hottest television shows and music videos. Classes meet once weekly and are one hour in length. Ballroom and Latin Dance Kids & Teens This
exciting class teaches the fundamentals of Ballroom (Rhythm and Smooth) and Latin dance. Learn the Cha Cha, Foxtrot,
Waltz, Mambo, Swing, Samba, Tango, and more! Musical
Theater: Triple Threat & Glee Ages 8+ Learn acting, singing, and dancing in this fun new class and become a "triple threat" performer!! Acro Dance Ages
8+ New!! Combining dance technique
and tumbling tricks, Acro dance increases flexibility, strength, and versatility in a dancer. From cart wheels to hand
springs, learn acrobatic skills that are athletic and amazing as you strengthen your technique through dance skills.
Adult Ages 18+ Our adult program is specifically designed for dancers ages 18 and over. Classes are intended to
be non-intimidating and are conducted in a comfortable environment. Adult
Ballet: (September 1, 2011-October 20, 2011) Adult students will learn the fundamentals of classical ballet vocabulary
and technique focusing on the development of technical skills, coordination, discipline, and correct body alignment.
Adult Jazz: (October 27, 2011-January 5, 2012)
Jazz dance is made up of multiple dance techniques and styles as it is greatly influenced by a variety of other dance forms,
such as modern dance and Broadway. Our jazz dance program incorporates traditional jazz dance, lyrical, modern jazz,
and contemporary dance. Classes are fun, energetic, and set to popular music! Adult Contemporary: (January 12, 2012-March 1, 2012) Adult
Tap: (October 25, 2011-January 3, 2012) Tap is a rhythmic and compelling form of dance. From it soft shoe
roots to it's modern hoofing popularity, Tap dance is a timeless classic. Our Tap dance program follows the progressive flow
of tap and encompasses steps from the origins of tap to modern percussive tap. Adult Hip Hop: (August 30, 2011-October 18, 2011) This exciting class teaches fundamental steps
of one of the most popular dance forms in existence! Set to the latest trends in urban music, students learn footwork, break
dancing, poppin', and freestyle dance movements, as influenced by some of today's hottest television shows and music videos. Belly Dance: (January 10, 2012-February 28, 2012) One of the oldest dance
forms in existence, Belly dancing is a fun and sultry whole body workout! Learn the basic movements and isolations of belly
dance in a non intimidating environment and gain the confidence you desire to shimmy your way to good health! Adult Ballroom & Latin Ages 18+ This
class teaches the fundamentals of Ballroom (Rhythm and Smooth) and Latin dance for couples and single dancers alike with a
focus on one dance style at a time. Learn the Cha Cha, Foxtrot, Waltz, Salsa, Mambo, Swing, Samba, and more! The style of
